Guru Gobind Singh Education Society, is an autonomous organization, setup by the Pioneering efforts of the then Sikh suffices of Bokaro Steel Limited, registered with the Government of Bihar in April 1979. The Society and the schools are named after the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh. The Guru was born at Patna in Bihar in 1666 and ordained Guruship at the tender age of nine after his father Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur the ninth guru was beheaded in Chandni Chowk, Delhi at the orders of Emperor Aurangzeb. The mimth guru attained mytyrdom for safeguarding the religious rights of the Hindus during the Mughal regime. Guru Gobind Singh brandished his sword against evil and injustice. He carried out his works from Anandpur Sahib, Ropar, land of his deeds and action. He has an unparallel personality. He was a scholar, poet and a warrior, a prophet and a military genius. His writings Compiled in Dasam Granth are poetic masterpieces. He organized the Sikhs into Khalsa Panth and gave the institution of Guruship a permanent and abiding character by vesting it in the immortality of the Granth and in the continuity of the khalsa Panth. He breathed his last ast Nanded, Maharashtra at the age of 42 in 1708.
